Jazz: I created Sonoma Jazz Girls in 2016 to try to make jazz a more welcoming place for women. It’s a jazz improv class where we learn chord spellings and practice soloing in a very laid back atmosphere. Check out our Facebook page. I have a music degree from Cal State Hayward (now East Bay) and many years of teaching and gigging experience. Sonoma Jazz Girls began right here with a blog entry! I bought your book at the Redwood Writers launch and enjoyed your voice in telling the stories of the various teenagers aboard. I think the bus is a metaphor for the road we all must travel to reach enlightenment. To that end, many of your characters appeared to achieve just that. I liked your clever use of The Canterbury Tales as a means to tell the story. Congratulations.
